Simplicity equals style in this two storey, split-level home. A striking white palette is offset against the natural beauty of western red cedar cladding, and a Japanese maple, planted during construction, grows through decking in a central atrium where it is enjoyed from internal living areas.
The sustainable design allows the length of the home to bask in northerly sunlight. Three tiers of polished concrete slabs absorb the sun’s warmth, radiating it back at night.
The design was also influenced by the long, sloping site. Using multiple levels limited the need to cut and fill, which was not only cost-effective but also resulted in a more functional and attractive home.
